The real estate market is a battlefield due to its high level of competitiveness. Therefore, holding certifications is key if you want to stand out and build greater trust with clients and prospects. In this blog post, we explain some of the certifications that will help you sharpen your skills, as well as where and how to obtain them.
The Role of AMPI
The Mexican Association of Real Estate Professionals (AMPI) originated in 1956 under the name "Mexican Union of Real Estate Brokers and Administrators, A.C." Its goal was to serve as a non-governmental body contributing to the professionalization of real estate activity in the country. In 1979, it changed its name to the one we know today. It is organized through governing bodies such as the National Assembly and a National Board of Directors.
AMPI spans 14 regions with over 85 sections and approximately 5,500 associates across Mexico. It also includes the Institute of Property Administrators, A.C., and the Commercial and Industrial Institute, A.C.
Associated real estate agents hold additional responsibilities, such as:
Staying informed about market trends within their operating area.
Analyzing the buyer's specific needs.
Showing properties that fit the client's criteria.
Coordinating with mortgage brokers, inspectors, and public notaries, among others.
Verifying all documentation involved in the transaction.
Providing solutions to any issues that may arise (within their scope) during the real estate transaction.
Training and Certification
AMPI offers various certifications, courses, and workshops for real estate agents through the Center for Training, Research, and Statistics (CCIE). Created in 2009, its mission is to design, coordinate, and promote specialized training programs.
At the CCIE, you can find a variety of courses, including civil contract drafting workshops, real estate photography, digital marketing, and diplomas in real estate commercialization, among others. Their certifications are recognized nationwide and are backed by the Ministry of Public Education (SEP) and the National Council for Standardization and Certification of Labor Competencies (CONOCER).
